Term Toru

Te whakaakoranga - Teaching

This term I aim to grow my practice in teaching in Maths and Writing subjects for the LEGENDs in Room 3.

I aim to do this by:

  1. Asking for support of my team + Mentor Kathy.

  2. Doing self preparation of lessons, and developing my own practice through learning on TKI, and using sheena cameron resources. Learning how to analyse and assess writing through E-astlle assessment.

  3. Watching and Observing lessons completed my team members.

Te ahurea akoranga - Learning Focused Culture

This term I aim to develop and more functional learning focused culture, where LEGENDs are engaged in their own learning, feeling positive about their learning in Maths, Writing and Structured Literacy.

I aim to do this by:

  1. Creating lessons that are engaging, and using Kagan structures to support this. For example in Writing - continuing Jot Thoughts, Flipped Learning in Reading.

  2. Being prepared and OrGanised for my first Whānau Hui, providing time at the beginning for LEGENDs to prepare and share their learning.

  3. Creating time for Room 3 LEGENDs to share thoughts about their own learning and sharing the learning they are proud. E.g sharing time in Writing.

  4. Creating time for Brain Breaks in a positive way where LEGENDs have also completed their mahi first.
